^^I'm in Love^^
and I'll make it clear.
He's as handsome
as a dove,
and he'll keep me from fear.
I'm in love and I have to say,
"Why did you leave me
all alone today?"
I'm in love
and I know it's true,
but I know I should stop
bothering you.

Gossip Girl::Cecily von Ziegesar
Serena van der Woodsen is back, and she looks like a hobo. She expects Blair Waldorf, her used to be best friend, to be her best friend once again, while Blair continues to ignore her and be a snob, and throw up. Serena and Blair live in a world where teenagers are free to do what they want. They smoke pot, have access to alcohol whenever they want, and everything they possibly want, as long as they don't humiliate their family image. And then there's the hunky piece of guy candy, Nate Archibald. Jenny and Dan Humphrey, Vanessa Abrams, and Chuck Bass all come between the not so sweet threesome.Overall, I think the book is appropriate for teens. Talks about the BIG three letter word, like a lot, and there's cursing. But I do kind of like the depth of the book. Don't make the same mistakes they did!

still upset over the whole humiliation thing
Change of Heart::Jodi Picoult
This story revolves all around a death row prisoner, who is convicted of sexually molesting a child and a double murder, and his name happens to be Shay Bourne. As always, Jodi Picoult uses different points of view to weave the story together. There are June, Lucius, Maggie, and Father Michael to tell the story.Shay Bourne suddenly has an urge to donate his heart to Claire Nealon, the sister of the girl he murdered. The story unfolds with many devastating things happening, and the past of others begin to tell you more about another character. Coincidentally I guess, Shay never gets to give the reader a piece of his mind.
I don't know if this is a good enough review, but I just have to say it was an awesome book. It won't be better than My Sister's Keeper(my opinion), but it'l be in a class of it's own.
I give it four-and-a-half stars.

The Goose Girl
Princess Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee was born the Crown Princess Kildenree. She mostly spends her time with her aunt, her mother's sister. Ani plays with the swans and speaks their tongue. One day, after her father dies, Ani is told that she must leave for Bayern, the neighboring country, for she has been betrothed to the prince of Bayern. Her guards have a plan to put her lady-in-waiting, Selia, on the throne in place of Ani. Ani finally becomes a goose girl after many adventures in between, and meets a new friend, Enna. Will Ani be able to get her name back successfully? Will she have a happy ending? What about Enna?I really liked this book. Plus, it would be allowed for the TFT, right? Back to the book. *spoilers*I liked it dealt with Ani's feelings, feeling neglected by her mother, finding comfort only in Falada and her father.

A Great and Terrible Beauty
Gemma Doyle is living in Bombay, India in 1895, when her mother suddenly dies. Before her death, Gemma had a vision, a vision in which she foresees her mother's death.Months later, Gemma is shipped off to Spence Academy for finishing school. There, she meets the quiet Ann, the selfish Pippa, and the troublemaker Felicity. They band together to create The Order, which was once a group of women going between the realms and the worlds. Unfortunately, the Rakshana, a group of men, wanted to stop and close the portals forever.
Gemma has the power to bring the rebirth of the real Order, and the secrets unravel one by one by one.
A Great and Terrible Beauty is set at the turn of the nineteenth century, where there was no equality between men and women, and where girls were supposed to wear corsets, petticoats, and ball gowns each and every day. This story is about a girl who turned her head the other direction.
Overall, I liked this book...a lot. Others may disagree, but I and firm on this opinion. First of all, I don't like scary stories. This book was kind of spooky, but it all balanced out with the action and drama. Second, it had power. It had a message. I personally think that the book was trying to say that you can't look down on girls, or people of a different race or class. I give it 5 stars.

The Host
Here's a summary from the Stephenie Meyer website (The link will go to the page of The Host):
The basic premise: The Host takes place after a bodysnatchers-style invasion of the earth. We (the humans) lost. Our narrator is Wanderer, one of the invading "souls," who struggles to navigate all the bewildering challenges that come with living inside a human body. She was forewarned about these challenges—the overwhelming emotions, the stunning physical responses, the glut of senses, the too vivid dreams and memories... However, there was one challenge Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body, human survivor Melanie Stryder, refuses to fade away into oblivion the way she should. Melanie lingers as an angry presence in Wanderer's head, holding on to her human secrets and filling Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves—Jared, another human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for the man she's never met. Outside forces combine to make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, and, working together, they set off to search for the man they both love. It's possibly the first love triangle that only involves two bodies.
That's it, I guess, for right now.
Happy Saturday!

**The Royalty Rules Reading Challenge**
Oh My God! I just joined The Royalty Rules Reading Challenge!!The Magic of Ink is hosting it, and here's what Ink Mage said(I'm quoting, don't worry Ink Mage!):
"From February 1st – April 30th, 2008 I’ll be hosting my first reading challenge, Royalty Rules. (Yes, I know, terrible pun.)
Rules: Read two, three, or four books of whatever genre you choose (fiction or non-fiction), whether you want to read about historical kings, modern queens, or fairytale princesses. The only parameter is that the books are about a royal personage, although not necessarily as the main character. It’s perfectly all right if you want to read a book about, say, the queen’s lady-in-waiting, as long as the story incorporates the rise and/or fall of a crowned head, or a sovereign’s entire life.
Twilight
"Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands. 'Be very still,' he whispered, as if I wasn't already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me. Then abruptly, but very gently, he rested his cold cheek against the hollow at the base of my throat."
As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he's a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.
This was an amazing book!! It had a little place in my heart for it, kind of like a little "Pandora's Box". At the very beginning, I didn't quite understand, but as the romance and the action raged on and on in my head, the picture finally became real: It was a story about finding true love.
Haha...(red) for blood.

The Purpose of this Blog
I know this is kind of corny or boring, but I just have to put this down. The purpose of this blog is for book reviews and also for me. I had blogs before, but I was never into them. Here's my little confession:
I'm addicted to Facebook! Hopefully I'll be able to get addicted to this once again!
